The Wildschönau is a very wide spread high valley in the Kitzbüheler Alps, away from transit traffic and mass tourism. There are in total four villages that make up the valley, all of them are easily reachable from the Inntal.
There are 300 km very well-groomed hiking paths at a height of 828 to 2309 meters within the wonderful mountains of the Kitzbüheler Alps. 46 rural and farmed mountain huts will make sure that you have a good tasty rest with a great view inclusive!
With the summer lifts in Tirol you can get on top of the mountains very comfortably. The lifts Markbachjoch and Schatzbergbahn bring all kinds of hikers in breezy heights. The mountain stations of the lifts are a good starting point for nice hikes with great views. With the Wildschönau Card the usage of the lifts is free of charge.
Being active in Tirol: A holiday in the Wildschönau can bring different activities every day, swimming, biking, horseback riding, tennis or paragliding add to the big choice of hiking paths. Some of the activities are included services in the WildschönauCard.
For those who are interested in culture the Wildschönau offers continuously events of different kinds. There are also many museums like the mountain farmers museum “z’Bach”, the tyrolean wood museum, the former miners attraction Lehenlahn, the sculpture park and much more.
